It was quickly becoming a dangerous situation at our house. My husband and I just had our second child. Roman was only about 18 months when he got bit by our chihuahua, Jeter. It drew blood. Jeter had bitten guests before but this was the final straw.
We knew something had to be done.
We didn't know what to do - I've had Jeter for 7 years and he was always territorial over me. But now that we have small children, I couldn't risk him biting my son again.

Thank god my friend Kerry sent me this video when she did because my husband was already making calls to friends and family trying to give Jeter away.
It hurt me to think of a life without Jeter, he had been with me through thick and thin, I was starting to panic.
But then I watched the video Kerry sent me... I convinced my husband John to give it one last shot, I knew Jeter wasn't a bad dog at heart and that he just needed training that actually resonated with him.

A high pitched, dog whistle-type sound came out of the device with a bright LED light.
Jeter quickly whipped his head around and looked up at me...
I yelled "NO!" and he jogged off into the living room - he knew he was in trouble but did not seem like he was in pain whatsoever, it was mostly shame.
He understood he was in trouble.
We fed Jeter later that day and as soon as I grabbed the remote - he just looked at me.
He knew the bad behavior would result in another sound and calmly ate his food right next ot his brother.
I couldn't believe it.
He associated the sound with the behavior and now all I had to do is grab the remote and he looks at me.
Jeter was a changed dog.
We slowly acclimated him with our son, and they would grow to play gently, even in my presence, even when treats were being given to his brother.
This is the best investment we have ever made -- I would recommend this to anyone dealing with bad dog behavior.
It literally kept my dog in our family and I could not be more grateful.
